50.6k followers, close to 3,000 posts and a steady rhythm through conference and election season.
ReadyMostly, yes. The 25th year looked the part, the board election is buzzing and 50.6k people follow along on Instagram. A few small things stand between PMA and a great December: the newsletter button on the homepage leads to a page that no longer exists, the conference page is still selling tickets for a weekend that's already happened, and nothing yet turns all that goodwill into renewals before the year closes.
Ten things that decide how a membership season goes, checked from the outside on 20 October.
50.6k followers, close to 3,000 posts and a steady rhythm through conference and election season.
Ready"Pilates Forward. Together." carries cleanly from tickets to gala to honourees. It reads like one year, not ten posts.
ReadyNo homepage description, a square logo as the share image (served over http) and a small "summary" card.
NearlyThe bio says "Discovery how you can get…" and the link page shares itself as "My Link in Bio Page".
NearlyLast article 28 August. The sitemap still carries template slugs like "blog-post-title-two" and one with HTML baked into the URL.
NearlyFooter says ©2025, the Code of Ethics is a PNG image, and the hotel links carry a "utm_source=chatgpt.com" tag (we've all been there).
NearlyThe homepage SUBSCRIBE button opens a Constant Contact page that reads "This page is no longer active".
To doStill says "Register today" and "Join us in West Palm Beach this October". It also calls itself a Summit and a Conference.
To doNo Giving Tuesday, gift membership or "renew before January" moment anywhere yet.
To doWe couldn't find PMA ads in Meta's Ad Library, so the conference crowd isn't being asked back.
To doDo the small fixes yourselves (they're all on this page). For the bigger ones, here's what we'd take off your plate before the year closes.
Give us view-only access to Google Analytics and Constant Contact and we'll come back with a 30-minute call: where sign-ups leak, which emails get opened, and what a renewal push could realistically bring in.
Enquire about this →We designed the branding for PMA's 25th year and a conference identity before it, so we know the look, the members and the calendar. Today we work with Pilates brands including BASI Pilates, BASI Systems and Pilates of San Diego, which keeps us curious about how teachers, studios and educators actually decide.
Voting closes on 24 October. A month later the American holidays arrive back to back, and for a non-profit with a global membership, Giving Tuesday is the one that matters most.
The homepage newsletter button goes nowhere.
The SUBSCRIBE button at the bottom of the homepage points to lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/sl6N7md/newsletter, which now shows "This page is no longer active". The conference page uses a different form that still works (lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/FBmjcYS). Point the homepage at the working one today (ten minutes, tops) and you stop losing sign-ups right before the season you'll most want to email them.
"What is this? Another way to get certified?"
Under the board-candidates post, with eight replies. Even engaged followers aren't always sure what the Alliance does for them. That's the gap a year-end campaign can close.
The Squarespace site is clear and well organised. What follows is mostly invisible to visitors and very visible to Google, AI answers and anyone sharing a link.
| Where | What we found | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Homepage newsletter | SUBSCRIBE leads to a retired Constant Contact page. The working form lives only on the conference page. | High |
| Conference page | Post-event, it still sells $695 tickets and $160 gala seats, says "this October", and the URL says /25th-anniversary-summit while the nav says Conference. | High |
| Homepage meta | No meta description, so Google writes its own. Title is just "Pilates Method Alliance". | Medium |
| Share image | Every page shares the 1080px round logo over http:// with a small summary card. A 1200×630 image per key page would do far more on WhatsApp, LinkedIn and email. | Medium |
| Navigation | "What is the PMA?" lives at /what-is-pilates, and "Our Community → Learn more" sends visitors off to Facebook. | Medium |
| Sitemap | Template slugs (blog-post-title-two, -three, -four), random-hash slugs and one URL with HTML in it (span-classsqsrte-text-color-accent…). | Medium |
| Images | Homepage visuals are named "Untitled design (80).png" and similar, mostly without alt text. Easy wins for accessibility and image search. | Low |
| Footer | ©2025, a Code of Ethics published as a PNG (not readable by search or screen readers) and a Zendesk address as the public email. | Low |
| Tracking tags | Two hotel links carry utm_source=chatgpt.com and the map link entry=gmail. Harmless, but it muddies anyone's analytics. | Low |
Today: how the homepage looks when someone shares it.
After: a landscape image, a searchable title and a line that says why to click.
In order of impact. The ones marked DIY your team can do this week. The rest we can run for you.
The homepage form is retired; the conference page form works.
Point SUBSCRIBE at the working form, and lift it higher on the page than the footer.
Still selling tickets for 17–18 October.
Recap photos, the seven honourees, a short highlight film and a "be first to hear about 2027" sign-up.
25 candidates had their moment; the winners deserve a bigger one.
A carousel, a short email and an updated Board page in the week after 24 October.
Square logo, no description, http image.
Meta descriptions and 1200×630 share images for Home, Membership, ITTAP and the conference page.
A typo in the bio and an untitled link page.
"Discover", a page title, and links that match the season: board, renew, newsletter.
No renewal or gifting moment before January.
A Giving Tuesday ask, a gift membership for students and new teachers, and a "renew before the new year" email.
Template slugs, ©2025, Code of Ethics as an image.
Redirect or remove the leftovers, update the year, publish the Code of Ethics as a page.
No paid social found.
A small retargeting budget for site visitors and Reel viewers, pointed at membership and gift membership.
The holiday fixes buy PMA a good December. These build an Alliance people understand, join and recommend all year.
A one-page story of what members get, in teachers' words, used everywhere from the bio to the renewal email.
We'd start with: five member interviews.
Announce the next gathering while the 25th is still warm, with a look that's ready for tickets by spring.
We'd start with: a save-the-date and three directions.
Clear NCPT and ITTAP guides that Google and AI assistants can quote, instead of studio blogs paraphrasing you.
We'd start with: a question map and the first guide.
A monthly member spotlight across 40+ countries. The candidate grid proved people love seeing their own teachers.
We'd start with: a template and the first four stories.
The panel at the conference already gathered Balanced Body, Polestar and others. Turn that conversation into an annual report the industry cites.
We'd start with: a member survey and a report format.
PMA turned 25 this year, and December has exactly 25 days before Christmas. One day per year, from 2001 to 2025: a milestone, a member, a photo from the archive. Day 1 lands on Giving Tuesday, the last days hand over to gift memberships, and the whole thing ends with members sharing their own "my PMA year" card. This is Option B above.
Pilates forward. Curious about what's next.
Enquire about either option (or just the quick win you'd like help with) by 6 November, and we'll book a 20-minute call to plan it.
How we checked: public pages of pilatesmethodalliance.org, its page tags, robots.txt and sitemap, the newsletter links on the homepage and conference page, the @pilatesmethodalliance Instagram profile and recent posts, the linkin.bio page, and a Meta Ad Library search, all on 20 October 2026. We haven't seen PMA's analytics or email data, so we've avoided guessing at numbers.
